Visual Rhetoric

This is a photo that has a lot of visual rhetoric witihin it. Just by looking at the photo you can see so much about who these men were and how they felt towards one another. The location of the second man is very important because you can see the man's true feelings toward the man in the forground because there is nothing holding him back from showing how he doesn't trust him. Since the man in the forground is all alone on his smoke break, it shows that all the other men that work with him don't trust him either. The placement of the line above the mens' heads is very important because it almost shows how all the men are being forced to be in the close quarters even though they dont all like eachother. It shows how they are cramped and uncomfortable. It is also clear that the enviornment in which they are in is very dirty and cold. The large contrast in the photo helps portray this dirty and very cold feeling.

Time for NASA to Deliver
http://blog.al.com/times-views/2011/09/time_for_nasa_to_deliver_edito.html

John Peck argues that NASA has been letting people down in that there have been no large advancements in their programs and that there have been large scientific set backs. He also argues that the NASA budget is only a small portion of the national budget and the government cant afford to keep giving so much money to tiny parts of the NASA program such as toilet handles. He also believes that the Marshall Space Flight Center is exactly what NASA needs to recieve our trust again and re-spark the space programs.

NASA Sets Sights on Mars After

Unmanned Moon Shot

Today, NASA launched an unmanned spacecraft to the moon. The goal for launching this moon porbes are to monitor and map out the terrain of the moon. This launch was just a short month after the launch of Juno, another spacecraft, to Jupiter. The spacecraft is expected to arrive on Jupiter in July 2016. The Grail lift offs were not uneventful this morning when the weather provided difficulty for launch. But after some wait, Grail went up at 9:08 this morning. Mars is NASAs next target in that they want to send a rover to go over the terrain and research the hospitality of Mars. NASA also wants to explore the 96-mile crater on Mars. In the meantime, NASA is requesting students across the nation to come up with a better name for the Grail probes to make sure the children have an influence.
